Instructions

1. Toast the Marshmallows

Place the large marshmallows on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and broil for 30–60 seconds, until they turn golden brown. Keep a close watch on them—they burn very quickly! You may also use a kitchen torch if you prefer. Set them aside.

2. Prepare the Glasses

Dip the rim of each glass into the chocolate syrup, then press it into the crushed graham cracker pieces. Drizzle a little extra chocolate syrup decoratively along the inside walls of each glass. Place the glasses in the freezer while you prepare the shake.

3. Blend the Shake

Add the chocolate ice cream, milk, chocolate sauce, marshmallows, crushed graham crackers, and chocolate pieces to a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth and thick. If you desire a specific consistency, you can add a little more milk, bit by bit, as needed.

4. Pour the Shake and Add Toppings

Pour the shake into your prepared glasses. Top with whipped cream, toasted marshmallows, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, mini chocolate chips, and graham cracker pieces.

5. Serve immediately.

Tips and Variations

 1.  Want it thicker? Use less milk. Want it thinner? Add more milk.

 2.   To enhance the chocolate flavor, blend in one tablespoon of cocoa powder or one scoop of chocolate malt powder.

 3.  Marshmallow Cream Alternative: For a smoother shake, use 3/4 cup of marshmallow fluff instead of whole marshmallows.

 4.  Dairy-Free Option: Substitute with plant-based chocolate ice cream and oat or almond milk.

 5. Make it a Malt: Add one scoop of malted milk powder to the blender.

 6. Adding chocolate graham crackers—both into the blend and around the rim of the glass—further intensifies the chocolate flavor.

Here is a recipe for a 'Double Chocolate S'mores Milkshake,' which combines the best techniques gathered from various sources:

Here is the complete recipe! A few key points to note:

1. Using chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla yields a rich, deep chocolate-marshmallow flavor—this is the true secret to making it a 'Double Chocolate' shake.

2. Blending the graham crackers directly into the milkshake—rather than simply sprinkling them on top—really brings out that classic S'mores flavor. Lightly toast the marshmallows using a kitchen torch or place them on a baking sheet and broil them for a few minutes—that slightly charred (smoky) flavor is what truly makes it taste like a "campfire S'more."

3. You can present this in an even more spectacular and delicious way by dipping the rim of the glass into chocolate syrup and then coating it with crushed graham cracker crumbs.

4. If you would like to make the milkshake even thicker, simply reduce the amount of milk slightly—you can always add more milk later if needed.
