Sweet and Delicious Gulab Jamun

Instructions:

1. Prepare Sugar Syrup:

- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.

- Add cardamom powder and rose water. Let it boil for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens a little. Remove from the heat and keep aside.

2. Make Gulab Jamun Dough:

- Combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda in a mixing bowl.

- Add ghee and mix well until it becomes crumbly.

- Add milk gradually and knead into a soft, smooth dough. Take care not to over knead the dough. The dough should be soft but not sticky. Cover it with a wet cloth and keep it aside for about 15-20 minutes.

3. Shape the Gulab Jamuns:

- After resting, divide the dough into small equal portions and roll them into smooth balls, taking care not to have any cracks in them.

4. Fry the Gulab Jamuns:

- Heat oil or ghee in a deep-frying pan on low to medium heat.

- Once hot, gently add the rolled balls. Fry them slowly, turning occasionally, until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.

- Make sure the oil is not too hot, or else the outside will brown too quickly while the inside will remain raw.

5. Soak in sugar syrup:

- After frying, remove the Gulab Jamuns from the oil and pat dry on paper towels for a few moments.

- Drop them directly into the hot sugar syrup. Soak them for at least 1-2 hours so that they absorb the syrup and become soft.

6. Serve:

- Gulab Jamuns can be served hot or at room temperature. Enjoy them as a delicious dessert!

Tips:

- Make sure the dough is not too dry; adding milk slowly helps in getting the right consistency.

- Fry the Gulab Jamuns on a low flame so that they cook evenly.

Enjoy making and enjoying this soft and delicious dish!
