Instructions:
1. Roast the Besan:
- Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over low heat.
- Add besan to the ghee and stir continuously. Roast the mixture on low heat until it turns golden brown and gives off a nutty aroma. This should take about 10-15 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
2. Add Sugar and Cardamom:
- Once the besan is roasted, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder to the warm besan mixture. Mix well until everything is combined and forms a dough-like consistency.
3. Shape the Laddus:
- Allow the mixture to cool enough to handle. Grease your hands with a little ghee.
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into small balls (laddus).
4. Garnish:
- Press a piece of chopped nut or a saffron strand on top of each laddu for decoration.
5. Cool and Store:
- Let the laddus cool completely and then store them in an airtight container. They can be enjoyed for several days or even weeks.
Note:
- You can adjust the sugar according to your taste.
- Ensure the besan is roasted properly for the best flavor and texture.
- You can also enhance the flavor by adding dried fruits or coconut as desired.
