Instructions
- First of all, take all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, curd, and oil in a large bowl. Now mix everything well. After this, add lukewarm water and knead for 10 minutes. If needed, add more water and knead a soft dough. Now cover it with a wet cloth and keep it in a warm place for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, knead the dough lightly so that the air present in it comes out. Now take a small ball-sized dough. Roll it into an oval shape with the help of a rolling pin. Do not make it too thick or too thin. It should not be bigger than your pan either.
- Apply water evenly on the naan; this will make it stick to the pan easily. After this, flip it gently and place it on a hot pan. Keep in mind that keep only the part with water on the pan and do not use a non-stick pan. Press it lightly. This will make the naan stick to the pan and will remain stuck even if the pan is turned upside down.
- Now, after a minute, flip the pan and cook the naan on direct flame till it becomes golden brown. Cook it from the other side as well, till it gets cooked a little.
- Usually, butter naan is cooked in a tandoor, so cooking it in a tandoor makes it called tandoori naan, but this method of cooking on a pan and then on an open flame is the same in texture and taste.
- Now, remove the naan gently and place it in a serving dish. Apply butter mixed with coriander on it with the help of a brush.
- Finally, serve hot butter naan (Butter Naan Recipe | Naan Recipe Without Yeast | Naan Recipe | Homemade Naan |) with your favorite curry like Matar Paneer or Dum Aloo.
