Ingredients:
4 ripe but firm bananas
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
A few strands of saffron (optional)

Instructions:
Peel the bananas and cut them into thick chunks or slices.
Combine the sugar and water in a heavy-bottomed pan. Cook until it comes to a boil to form a syrup.
Add the banana pieces to the syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring gently, until the bananas become soft and translucent (approximately 15-20 minutes).
Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
Add the cardamom powder, lemon juice, saffron strands, and cloves. Mix well.
Continue cooking over low heat until the syrup reaches a one-string consistency and the bananas are thoroughly coated in the syrup.
