Here's an easy and delicious guava juice recipe:
Ingredients:
4–5 ripe guavas
2 cups cold water (plus more to taste)
1–2 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional)
Juice of half a lemon
Ice cubes
| White Guava Juice/ Pink Guava Juice |
Instructions:
Prepare the guavas — Wash the guavas and cut off the ends of each one. Cut them into 4 pieces and place them in a blender with 2 cups of water and sugar, blending thoroughly.
Straining — Strain the mixture into a large jug, stirring with a wooden spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Add the remaining water and more sugar, if desired.
Finish—add lemon juice, which not only adds brightness but also helps maintain the drink's fresh taste.
Serve—pour over ice and enjoy!
Tips:
Use ripe guavas with soft flesh. Don't blend the guava pieces too hard or for too long, as the seeds will also be ground, making the juice gritty like sand.
White-fleshed guavas work best, but you can also use pink-fleshed guavas, which will give the juice a beautiful pink color.
If you have a powerful blender like a Vitamix, Ninja, or Blendtec, you don't need to remove the seeds first.
If you want to ripen the guavas, place them in a paper bag and leave them at room temperature. To speed up the process, add a banana or an apple to the bag.
Guava pairs best with tropical and acidic fruits, such as apples, bananas, kiwis, mangoes, oranges, pineapples, plums, strawberries, and coconut.
Refrigerate fresh guava juice within 2 hours of preparation. Store it in a clean, airtight container and use it within 3 days.
