Jeera Rice | How to Make Jeera Rice | Jeera Rice | Jeera Pulao, this is an easy and delicious rice recipe made with cumin seeds, ghee, and basmati rice. It is usually served with dal or curry and goes especially well with dal tadka recipe but can be served with any gravy-based sabji. Today we will learn 2 methods of making jeera rice recipe. The first method is boiling the rice in a large vessel and the second is cooking the rice in a pressure cooker. So, without wasting any time, let us learn these 2 methods of making jeera rice today. 


Ingredients


Boiling in a large pot (Method 1):

- ½ cup basmati rice

- 1 tsp oil

- ½ tsp salt

- 1 tsp ghee

-1 tsp cumin seeds

- 2 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

- Water, for soaking and boiling


Using a pressure cooker (Method 2):

- 1 tsp ghee

- 1 tsp cumin seeds

- ½ cup basmati rice

- 1 cup water

- ¼ tsp salt

- 2 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

Instructions


Boiling in a large pot (Method 1):

- Firstly, wash ½ cup of basmati rice with clean water and soak it for 20 minutes.

- Now boil 4 cups of water in a large pot. After the water boils, add 1 tsp oil and salt to taste to the soaked rice. Mix well and boil for 8-10 minutes.

- Keep stirring occasionally to prevent the rice from sticking to each other. Boil till the rice is cooked completely.

- When the rice is cooked, drain the excess water. Add 1 cup of cold water so that the rice does not cook further. Keep aside for 15 minutes.

- Now heat 1 tsp ghee in a large pan and crackle 1 tsp cumin seeds. Now add the cooked basmati rice to it. Make sure the water is drained completely. Also, add ¼ tsp salt and mix gently. Make sure the rice does not break.

- Finally, add 2 tsp coriander leaves and enjoy jeera rice with Dal Tadka.


Using a pressure cooker:

- Firstly, heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker and crackle 1 tsp cumin seeds.

- Now add ½ cup basmati rice (washed and soaked for 20 minutes) and fry for a minute. Add 1 cup water, ¼ teaspoon salt, and mix well.

- Cover and cook on a medium flame for 2 whistles. When the pressure subsides, open the cooker and mix everything gently.

- Finally, add 2 tbsp coriander leaves and enjoy jeera rice with Dal Tadka.
