Farali Dosa Recipe for Navratri Fast | Faral Dosa | How to Make Farali Dosa | Farali Dosa Recipe in English | As we all know, Navratri fasts have begun. And those observing the fast have to prepare different dishes every day. To ease their burden, we bring you Vrat Dosa today. It's made with roasted sago and bhagar (also known as samake rice). Dosa can be made even more delicious by adding some basic spices. You can serve it with Satvik coconut chutney. Today, we'll share the recipe for this chutney, as well as a potato chutney for the stuffing. So, let's learn the full recipe for Vrat Dosa.
Ingredients:
For the Dosa Batter
1 cup mordhan
1/2 cup sago
2-3 green chilies
Black salt to taste
2 boiled potatoes
2-3 tablespoons yogurt
2 1/2 cups water
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
Chopped coriander leaves
For the Coconut Chutney
1/2 cup grated coconut
A handful of coriander leaves
A handful of roasted peanuts
2 tablespoons sugar
2-3 green chilies
1 inch ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Black salt to taste
1/4 cup water
1-2 ice cubes
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
For the Stuffing
3-4 boiled potatoes
A handful of roasted peanuts
1 tablespoon green chili ginger paste
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
A few curry leaves
1 medium-sized tomato, chopped
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
Chopped coriander leaves
1 tablespoon oil
Instructions:
First, heat a pan. Add sago pearls and lightly fry for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
Now, in a mixer jar, add mordhan, ginger, green chilies, yogurt, roasted sago pearls, boiled potatoes, salt to taste, and 2.5 cups of water and make a paste.
Now, transfer this mixture to a bowl, add cumin seeds, black pepper powder, and coriander leaves, mix, and cover and let it sit for 10 minutes.
In the same mixer jar, add grated coconut, green chilies, ginger, sugar, roasted peanuts, coriander leaves, lemon juice, cumin seeds, salt to taste, ice cubes, and water and make a fine paste. Transfer this mixture to a bowl.
Heat oil/ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and curry leaves and let them crackle.
Add the green chili and ginger paste and fry.
Mash or chop the boiled potatoes into small pieces and mix. Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder and salt to taste and mix everything well.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Finally, add chopped coriander leaves and mix. The coconut chutney and Potato stuffing are ready.
To make the fasting dosa, heat a non-stick pan. Apply oil or ghee and spread 1 teaspoon of the dosa batter on top. When it becomes crisp, flip it over and cook for 10 seconds. Transfer it to a plate.
Prepare the remaining dosas in the same manner.
Now, the Fasting Dosa, Coconut Chutney, and Potato Stuffing are ready to serve. Serve hot. You can serve the potato stuffing with the dosa or separately.
