Makhana is also used for weight loss. It is rich in protein and fiber. You can make and eat Makhana Kheer during any fast. This recipe, which takes 15-20 minutes to prepare, uses Makhana, sugar, ghee, and some dry fruits. It is a favorite among people of all ages. Its flavor lingers on the tongue long after it is in the mouth. So, let's learn the complete recipe for this delicious and healthy fasting Makhana Kheer.


Ingredients:

250 grams Makhana

100 grams of sugar

1 liter of full-fat milk

1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

Chopped dry fruits (cashews, almonds, ground nuts)

1-2 tablespoons ghee

A few saffron strands


                Roasted Makhana Kheer 


Instructions:

First, heat ghee in a pan. Add makhana seeds and lightly fry them over low-medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Transfer them to a plate and let them cool.

Now, put half the makhana seeds in a mixer jar and grind them into a fine powder.

Add chopped nuts to the same pan and lightly fry them. Transfer them to a plate.

Now, pour milk into the pan and bring it to a boil. Take 2-3 tablespoons of this milk into a small bowl and soak the saffron strands in it.

Let the milk boil until it reaches 80-85% boiling point. When the milk reduces slightly, add the makhana powder and mix well.

Now, add the roasted makhana seeds, nuts, and cardamom powder and mix well. After cooking for 2 minutes, add sugar and soaked saffron and mix everything thoroughly. Turn off the heat.

The Makhana Kheer is ready to serve. You can serve it hot or cold.
