Today we have brought you a special Vrat Wali Kadhi for Navratri fasting. Which you can make and eat on normal days as well. I like it very much. If you want, you can also make and eat it during Ekadashi or Chaturthi fasting. It is very tasty and completely sattvik to eat. The main ingredients to make it are buttermilk and boiled potatoes. So let's know the complete recipe of making Vrat Wali Kadhi.
Ingredients:
3 cups buttermilk
4 medium-sized boiled potatoes
Handful of roasted peanuts
2-3 green chillies
Some curry leaves
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp lemon juice/1/4 tsp citric acid (lemon flowers)
Salt as per taste
Water as per the requirement
2 tbsp oil/ghee

Instructions:
First of all, heat oil/ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and curry leaves to it. Also add green chillies and fry lightly.
Now mash the boiled potatoes well and put them in the pan and mix well. Grind the roasted peanuts coarsely and add it to it. Cover and let it cook for 2 minutes.
Now add 1/4 cup water and mix well. Add salt as per taste. Let it boil on medium flame. Now turn off the gas.
Now add buttermilk and mix everything well.
Add lemon juice/citric acid to it. You can use either of the two. Now mix it well.
There you go, your Vrat Wali Kadhi is ready. If you want, you can eat it with mordhan (bhagar), Rajgara pudi or sabudana khichdi.
Note:
Turn off the gas before adding buttermilk. Otherwise, the buttermilk may curdle.
You can also add rajgire flour. Whisk the rajgire flour in the buttermilk and add it to the tadka.
