This dal palak recipe (Palak Dal Recipe) is prepared by adding a tadka of Indian spices to palak and lentils. You can serve it with rice. So let's know the complete method of making dal palak (Palak Dal Recipe).
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh chopped spinach
1/2 cup yellow moong dal (soaked for 2-3 hours)
1/2 cup toor daal (soaked for 2-3 hours)
1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
1 medium-sized tomato, finely chopped
3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 inch of ginger, finely chopped
1 bay leaf
1-2 whole dried Kashmiri red chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1/4 tsp turmeric powder + 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder + 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1 tsp kasuri methi
Salt to taste + 1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp oil + 2 tbsp oil
Water as required

Instructions:
First of all, put the moong dal and toor dal soaked for 2-3 hours to cook in a pressure cooker. Also, add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 bay leaf. Cook till 2-3 whistles.
Now heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida and let them crackle. Now add chopped garlic and ginger and fry well for 1 minute.
After this, add chopped onion. Fry it till it becomes transparent. After this, add tomatoes. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
When the tomatoes are cooked well, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and salt as per taste. Mix everything well and cook for one more minute. Keep in mind that we have added salt while cooking the dal, so add salt as per taste.
Now add spinach to it and cook well. When it is cooked well, add cooked moong dal and toor dal to it.
Add water as required and let it boil. Let it cook on low flame.
Now prepare the Tadka. For this, heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic, whole dried Kashmiri red chillies, and kasuri methi and fry it. Now pour it over the dal palak and mix all the ingredients well. Now turn off the gas.
Finally, delicious and healthy dal palak is ready. Serve it with roti or rice.
