Ingredients:
1 cup moong dal
3 tbsp semolina
2 tbsp poppy seeds
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups water
2 tbsp warm milk
Some saffron strands
1-2 tsp yellow food color (optional)
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Chopped dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios)
1 cup ghee

Instructions:
First of all, wash the moong dal with clean water and soak it for 3-4 hours. After 3-4 hours, drain the excess water and dry it with a cloth.
Soak saffron in 2 tbsp milk and keep aside.
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan. Add moong dal and fry it lightly.
Now put it in a mixer jar and grind it finely.
Heat 2-3 tbsp ghee in a pan. Add semolina and poppy seeds and fry it lightly. When semolina and poppy seeds are roasted well, add ground moong dal powder and mix. Keep stirring it continuously so that it does not burn.
Now boil 2 cups of water well in another vessel. Also add sugar and cardamom powder and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Let it cook till the sugar melts.
Now mix the syrup with moong dal powder slowly and keep stirring it continuously till it is completely mixed. Keep the gas low. Let it cook for 20-25 minutes.
Now add 2-3 tbsp ghee to it. Also, add chopped nuts. Add saffron milk and mix everything well. Now let it cook for another 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes ghee will start separating from it. Then turn off the gas.
Finally, Moong Dal ka Halwa (Moong Dal Halwa Recipe) is ready. Serve it hot.
