It is based on the classic combination of strong coffee, creamy vanilla ice cream, banana, and chocolate—all blended together to create a rich and delightful shake.

A smooth, thick, and creamy milkshake featuring a bold coffee flavor, sweet banana, and a subtle hint of chocolate. It’s the perfect treat to lift your spirits!

Ingredients

1½ cups strong-brewed coffee, cooled to room temperature

 2 cups vanilla ice cream

 1 large frozen banana

3 tablespoons chocolate syrup (plus a little extra for garnish)

 5–6 ice cubes

 Freshly whipped cream, for serving

 Banana slices, for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the banana. Peel and freeze the banana in advance. Slice it into rounds before freezing to make blending easier.

2. Brew and cool the coffee. Brew a strong batch of coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. Do not use hot coffee—this will cause the ice cream to melt too quickly.

3. Blend. Add the coffee, vanilla ice cream, frozen banana, 3 tablespoons of chocolate syrup, and ice cubes to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.

4. Pour and garnish. Divide the mixture evenly between two large glasses. Garnish with a dollop of fresh whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, and a slice of banana.

Tips and Variations:

For a bolder coffee flavor: Use cold brew coffee or add 2–3 shots of espresso. * Instant Coffee Alternative: Dissolve 1–2 teaspoons of instant coffee in ½ cup of hot water, then let it cool before use.

Dairy-Free Version: Replace the vanilla ice cream with full-fat coconut milk and sweeten with 2–3 Medjool dates.

Extra Indulgence: Add a shot of KahlĂșa and sprinkle a little cinnamon powder on top.

Lighter Option: Use plain yogurt instead of ice cream to make it more suitable for breakfast and boost the protein content.

Consistency: If the shake becomes too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk and blend again.

Storage:

It tastes best when freshly made, but it can be prepared the night before, refrigerated, and enjoyed the next day.

A few key points to keep in mind:

Ensure that the coffee is brewed strong and has cooled down before mixing; alternatively, use cold brew coffee.

Using frozen bananas makes the shake even thicker and creamier.

You can use ripe or overripe bananas—browned bananas contain more natural sugars, making the drink sufficiently sweet without the need for any additional sweeteners.

I have also included several different variations, including a dairy-free option and a lighter alternative suitable for breakfast.
